Ahh, I can see the Durge influence, but not in all the ways I would’ve thought to take inspiration! The broader torso could be just as much Durge as it is someone like Venom, and taking the idea of Durge’d prehensile tendons/muscle fibers/tentacles and turning that into a twist on Ninjiro’s wraps is downright brilliant. This is an outstanding villainous counterpart character design.

MetalDoom responds:

Oh yeah, it might not be something you notice at first, but once you're told it becomes all too clear. My friend bringing up the idea of him being like Durge under the skin was such a eureka moment for me, I was all too happy to lean further into that with this redesign. Being a big fan of evil counterparts yourself, I think you'd know what makes a good one more than anybody so I really take your praise to heart here! Thanks!

It's not a Yurp! shirt, but I want it just as much as one.

Awesome art! The pattern around their head accompanied by spaceships reminds me of how 'space madness' was visualized in the movie Pandorum. I really like it, gives the intensity of the expression and colors a more unsettling edge!

Really love those colors!

NorBeBlue responds:

Thank you! I tried to keep it basic. At least with the colors in the character’s design.

I dig her outfit! Makes me think I should draw the Madame again at some point…

RainbowColorWarrior responds:

The outfit was inspired by the outfits worn by the Doctors during the 80's era of Doctor Who. The Final Era of the Classic Series before the BBC screwed over the show and put it on "Hiatus" (Basically cancelled). The Doctors during that era wore question mark lapels. Checkered patterned pants. And the scarf around her jacket is similar to that of Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor.

The Red is inspired by Tom Baker Fourth Doctor's final outfit before he departed the show and the Doctor regenerated into the fifth Doctor Peter Davidson. His iconic scarf was multi colored, but it was variations on the color red. As was his coat and hat. It was a great outfit in my opinion.

They both look absolutely adorable! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, my guy.

Palindronev2 responds:

Thanks man! You have a great Christmas as well

Excellent art! I can clearly see how it’s a companion piece to the Batman art you made, but it’s still got a feeling all it’s own.

KnightLineArt responds:

Thanks, and I'm glad you like it. I felt slightly less confident in this one since the Batman piece was the base and I had the "vision" for that one.

Really putting the ‘ass’ in Christmas, eh?

It’s crazy how little you needed to change her design to make her more human—in a good way, it barely feels like she’s changed at all. You really captured her character!

Definitely different from what I’m used to seeing from you, but just as confident and quality as I’ve come to expect! Drawing characters with multiple pairs of arms can be a big pain, but you managed to make it feel very natural and unobtrusive. Excellent job!

MercKaiju responds:

Hey, thanks! Yeah, drawing extra arms is definitely tricky. I can see it being very easy to mess up. I'm honestly surprised I didn't try to hide a couple of those hands either.

it’s like heart and artist do you get it
